The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health is a 12-month, full-time residential fellowship designed for emerging leaders across diverse disciplines medicine, public health, policy, arts, social sciences, and more who are committed to improving brain health equity and reducing the impact of dementia globally. The program combines interdisciplinary academic training, leadership development, mentorship, and access to a global collaborative network to support impactful community projects.

Fellows choose between two prestigious host institutions:

  • University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), USA
  • Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
    Both sites share the same core curriculum and provide complementary site-specific experiences. 

Funding

  • Fully funded, with fellows receiving a stipend, access to the course curriculum, mentorship, and eligibility for pilot project funding of up to $25,000 USD to launch brain health initiatives in their home communities.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should meet all of the following:

  • Completed terminal professional training in fields like medicine, social sciences, arts, technology, policy, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to brain health equity and dementia-enhancing solutions
  • Proven leadership and creative potential to initiate change
  • Fluent in English and available to relocate to and reside in Dublin or San Francisco for 12 months
  • Supported by a regional or institutional network capable of championing their future impact
  • Ability to travel internationally as required

  • Applications open on 30 May 2025 for the 2025–2026 cohort.

  • Interviews conducted in November 2025, with final decisions communicated in December 2025.

Duration of Program

  • 12 months, full-time residential fellowship commencing in late August 2025 in either Dublin or San Francisco.

  2. Shortlisted candidates are invited to interviews in regional centers (e.g., Lagos).

  3. Final decisions made by December 2025
