The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health program, hosted by the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI), is a highly selective, interdisciplinary, 12-month residential fellowship focusing on dementia prevention and equitable brain health. Fellows are immersed in an engaging curriculum blending science, creativity, ethics, health policy, and leadership, all aimed at addressing disparities in brain aging across global communities.

Fellows choose between two prestigious fellowship sites:
- Trinity College Dublin, Ireland
- University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), USA
Both offer world-class environments through the GBHI framework.
Funding
This is a fully funded, paid fellowship, which includes:
- Living stipend for full-time residency
- Tuition for the structured curriculum
- Mentorship and professional development
- Up to USD 25,000 in pilot project funding for brain health initiatives
- A prestigious Certificate in Equity in Brain Health from UCFS or Trinity
Additionally, fellows join an evolving global network of health equity leaders and enjoy continued community engagement post-fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Have completed a terminal degree (e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent professional portfolio)
- Be fluent in English, with readiness to live in full-time residency for 12 months
- Demonstrate robust leadership potential, creativity, and a clear vision for community impact in brain health equity
- Submit a feasible brain health-related project proposal, supported by a regional network for implementation
- Come from diverse backgrounds: clinicians, artists, researchers, policymakers, journalists, technologists, educators, etc.
