The YPP is a competitive global entry program for emerging professionals aiming to address development challenges at the World Bank Group (WBG). Participants receive rotational assignments across key operations, gain exposure through the YP Academy, and engage in mentoring and leadership development. YPP hires work across institutions like the World Bank (IBRD/IDA), IFC, and MIGA.
Location (Country/City)
Young Professionals may be based at the WBG headquarters in Washington, D.C., or in one of its country offices, depending on assignment. They must be flexible and ready to relocate as required.
Funding
Selected fellows receive a term contract (initially 2 years, extendable to 5+ years based on performance), accompanied by:
- Competitive salary (US$105,000–$150,800 net annually)
- Comprehensive benefits package (medical insurance, mobility allowance, relocation support, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet all the following:
- Born on or after October 1, 1992
- Hold citizenship from a WBG member country
- Have 4+ years of full-time professional experience post-undergrad (doctoral work may count)
- Possess a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field before September 1, 2026; doctorates count if substantially complete
- Excellent command of English; other languages advantageous
- Not currently employed by WBG or under eligibility restrictions
